Award-winning wine connoisseur Cori Solomon returned to Missouri for another tour of Missouri wine tasting during the summer of 2019. Her trip comes as a follow-up of nearly 10 years of research, experiencing how the Missouri wine palate has evolved – or in her opinion, improved.

In her recent online review “Show Me Missouri Wine,” Solomon writes about how in the beginning of her research, she found red varieties like Norton and Chambourcin to be a little harsh, but after only few short years, they have developed more character, balance and smoothness.

Among her notes of Missouri wine, Solomon lists Röbller Vineyard, which she first visited in 2012, among her favorite wineries. Following her 2014 visit to Röbller, she wrote about her favorite wine-tasting experience in her blog post “Röbller Vineyard Winery: Enjoying a day in Missouri Wine Country.”

As a complement to her article, Solomon appeared on Big Blend Radio for a half-hour podcast, discussing the different kinds of wines and grapes in Missouri and how they compare to those in different regions of the United States, the rich history of Missouri wine, and the incredibly unique environment of Missouri wineries.

Solomon is the founder of LA Wine Writers and has earned her WSET Level 2 Award in Wines and Spirit. She holds certifications as a NASA American Wine Specialist and NASA Spanish Wine Specialist and is a member of the International Food Wine Travel Writers Association (IFWTWA), North American Travel Journalists Association (NATJA), and Society of American Travel Writers (SATW).

Röbller is thankful for Solomon’s insightful and educational review of Missouri wines and for the International Food Wine & Travel Writers Association for sponsoring her latest visit.
